LELIVE
MEET THE BRAND THAT CARES
Meet their CEO.
Lelive (pronounced leh-lee-veh) was created in 2020 by Amanda Du-Pont.
The name was inspired by Amanda's unofficial Swazi name, and means 'of the nation or world', which was a perfect fit for them because they're first and foremost about building a strong community that they support, listen to and are guided by.
Made by Africa.
The range was developed by expert formulators alongside their dedicated community on social media to create skincare that's truly made by Africa.
It's their mission to make skincare that is clean, simple, effective and affordable while celebrating what makes Africa unique.
Good for you, good for the planet.
Their entire range has been formulated to be kind to you and the environment.
Their ingredients (which are 95% natural and up to 5% plant-identical) are sourced responsibly with local ingredients being celebrated throughout their range, and their packaging (which is mostly aluminium due to its recyclability) avoids the use of plastic wherever possible.
Products are also vegan, cruelty-free and reef safe!
FAQs.
What are some ingredients that they will never use?
Silicones, fragrances, micro beads, peg's, phthalates, formaldehydes, bpa's, petroleum-derived, oxybenzone, chemical sunscreens, among others.
Is this product suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes! They use both safe and quality ingredients at levels that do not irritate the skin.
Their products have been tested with sensitive skin and are dermatologist-approved.
Please note that if you have eczema, ingredients such as aloe and panthenol are great. However, we do not recommend using the save our skin (sos) aha/bha exfoliator.
Do their products work for younger or older skin?
Yes, they have a wide range of actives.
Can men use their products?
Of course!
How natural are their products?
Over 95 percent. The rest are plant identical ingredients (such as our vitamin c) or naturally certified preservatives.
I've heard oils are comedogenic - is their product going to clog my pores?
Most oils are comedogenic. However, the formulation and the quality of the ingredients used are the important factors in how the oil functions. That's why Lelive choose only the best ingredients and work with highly skilled formulators to produce products that are formulated for your skin, that don't clog your pores. For example, their coconut oil is high quality and organic.
The product has a scent but you say it is fragrance free?
Lelive use no artificial fragrances as these are used for smell only and have no benefits for the skin. They use ingredients with natural scents that also have benefits for your skin.
How long does the product last for and when will I see results?
All products have a 2 year shelf life. They should be used within 6 months of opening. Please keep out of direct sunlight.
Your product should last about 6-8 weeks with regular use. You should see results within 4 weeks (however, pigmentation can be a longer process).
How are ingredients sourced and are they organic?
Some ingredients are organic. The majority of ingredients are certified to international standards. All products are vegan and cruelty-free.
A lot of their oils and other natural ingredients are from Africa, but ingredients like hyaluronic acid are from abroad.
All ingredients are high quality and traceable back to the farmer.
Do you use essential oils?
Lelive use high quality essential oils in some of their products - but in quantities less than 0.25% total. This is well below recommended guidelines, making them safe for sensitive skin.
You say the product is clean but some contain alcohols?
Lelive use cosmos-certified alcohols derived from plants and in extremely small quantities (less than 0,25% of a product if used).
